Licensed Psychologist
Richard received his Master’s Degree in Psychology in 1987 from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, after completing his undergraduate degree in Psychology at Saint Olaf College in 1981. Richard became a Licensed Psychologist in Minnesota in 1989.
After spending several decades in professional corporate settings researching and developing testing and assessment instruments, Rich entered into private clinical practice in 2011 and in 2013 created Aria Counseling. At Aria, Rich provides psychotherapy to a wide variety of clients, including children, adolescents, adults and elders. He works with individuals, couples and families. Rich is particularly skilled at helping people who have difficulty making traction in their lives become "unstuck." He is able to offer people insights, perspectives and ideas they had not thought of before, helping them to move through issues, circumstances and emotions they had viewed as hopeless. He is adept at conflict resolution and management, is trained in discernment counseling for couples and utilizes a variety of approaches to best suit a client's needs.
Rich is also a Board Approved Supervisor and provides clinical supervision to trainees
